Job Description
To plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacture of ride control systems in accordance with pre-established company objectives at an optimum cost that is consistent with delivery and quality requirements.
Develop and maintain a safe and effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of personnel.

Direct the Value Stream Managers in the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with the agreed-to AOP and guide these managers in the preparation of annual budget goals and attainment of annual plant goals.

Develop, maintain and improve product income levels through waste reduction, cost reduction, and cost improvement plans.

Direct Black Belts in the preparation and implementation of Six Sigma plans and strategies consistent with the agreed to AOP and guide this position in the preparation of plan attainment.

Direct the Lean Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of lean plans and strategies consistent with the agreed to AOP and guide this position in the preparation of plan attainment.

Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future manufacturing requirements, including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital expenditure programs.

Recommend proper use of machines, tools, and equipment

Appraise technological developments, investigating feasibility of new equipment and techniques

Prepare dependable cost estimates for changes in manufacturing methods

Develop and/or evaluate programs designed to improve the manufacturing process

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEOC, and other Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies, in addition to application certification issued for ISO 14001 and TS16949.

Maintain proper shop disciplines and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate date input and manufacturing cost controls.

Manage the applicable departments with the appropriate communication of goals, performance feedback, and rewards and recognition to provide optimum employee relations.
Required Skills

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to present this and other information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

Ability to collect data, establish facts, define problems and draw valid conclusions.
Required Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Production Management, Business Administration, or Mechanical Engineering

Ten to twelve years' broad manufacturing and materials experience.
